Jessica Villarreal, CLCS

Short bio

Jessica Villarreal, CLCS is a commercial lines producer and the host of Jessica's Risky Business, the podcast that makes business risk and insurance claims genuinely entertaining. Based in McAllen, Texas, she works in English and Spanish and has spent her career on both sides of the table, as the entrepreneur signing the policy and the professional explaining it.

Long bio

Jessica Villarreal spent more than a decade as a partner at a technology and communications consulting firm before moving into commercial insurance, where she now builds coverage programs for companies that move fast and cannot afford to be wrong about what they bought. She holds the CLCS designation and was named Rookie of the Year at her brokerage.

She has also lived the risks she writes about. She has been a boutique owner, a marketing director, a longtime partner in a restaurant and alehouse in McAllen's Art District, and a campaign leader for The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. That range is what gives her podcast its voice: she is not translating insurance for business owners from the outside, she is one of them.

Topics she can talk about cold

Why business owners meet their policy twice. The day they buy it and the day they need it, and how to close that gap before a loss.

The claims nobody sees coming. Quiet, operational, everyday decisions that turn into six figure losses, and the five minute conversation that prevents them.

Deepfakes, fake invoices, and the modern heist. How AI voice cloning changed commercial crime, and what insurance actually answers for it.

Making insurance genuinely interesting. Turning claims into stories that business owners will actually listen to, and why that changes behavior.
